Marcus Cheong

Producer / Co-Author - Book and Lyrics

In 1997, Marcus founded the performing arts company Zero G produced a series of successful stage performances. These include writing and directing credits for the original stage musical And Can It Be? (Enmore Theatre 1997) and Shine (Enmore Theatre 1998). A cast of over 50 was assembled for a bold new interpretation of Godspell (Seymour Theatre Centre 1998) which Marcus produced.

In 1998 Marcus accepted the position as project director of HOT M, an ambitious performing arts company consisting of actors, musicians and video production personnel. In the 4 years as director, Marcus produced numerous stage and video works including Clowns/Commercial (Stage Play 1999 - Seymour Theatre Centre), Musicworks (Concert 1999 - The Basement), Still Life (Short Film - 2000), White (Stage Play 2000 - Bondi Pavilion Theatre), A Place With The Pigs (Stage Play – 2000 Bondi Pavilion Theatre), Trumpets and Raspberries (Stage Play 2001 - Seymour Theatre Centre), Digital Life (TV series 2001 – 2002 - Channel 31) and Powerplays (Stage Play 2001 - Belvoir St Theatre).

From 2002 – 2006 Marcus was the Director of Total Visual Solutions, an independent production company of stage, television and multimedia projects. Television and film productions include co-writing and editing credits for Tropfest 2003 winner The 3 Little Pwoks. Marcus has written and directed several short films that have been released on DVD including And the Band Played Waltzing Matilda (Director 2001 – Music Video) Anniversary (Writer/Director 2001 – Zero G TV), The Lemmings (Writer/Director 2002 – Short Film Series), The Tenants (Director 2003 – Short Film) and Strengths and Weakness (Writer/Director 2004 – Short Film).

Broadcast Television credits over the years include Many Nations (Writer/Director1998 – National Television Commercial Campaign), Anglicare (Director 2002 –2004 – NSW Television Commercial Campaign), Good Sex (Writer/Director Opening Sequence 2004 – Channel 10) , Celebration of Word and Song (TV Producer 2004, 2005, 2006 – Channel 7 and International Satellite Release) and Ignite Film Festival (Creator and Producer 2004, 2005, 2006 Channel 7)

Marcus is currently the producer of Glen at Work (Animated television series) and the stage musical Angels.
